John R. Lloyd, Jr., 88, of Monongahela, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 in his home. A son of the late John and Marie Laglar Lloyd, he was born in Belle Vernon on April 4, 1929. John resided in Belle Vernon until moving to Monongahela in 2012. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Belle Vernon. John loved going to his camp at Confluence and enjoyed bowling. He worked at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant until his retirement in 1991. He started working at Belle Vernon Cemetery in 1965 and continued working there for over 30 years. Survivors include his wife Helga Disch Lloyd whom he married in 2011 and two step-sons, Michael (Barbara) Klett of Boston, MA and Eric Klett of Lancaster, PA. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Darlene Lloyd on January 15, 2014; a step-son, Robert Klett on December 14, 2017; and a sister, Amelia Frederick. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 PM Monday in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon.
