John R. Kudlik passed away on March 11, 2025, at the age of 90. He was the son of the late John and Irene Matuschak Kudlik. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Nichols Kudlik; son, Richard D. Kudlik; and grandson, John M. Conn. He was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1953 graduate of Monessen. He is a veteran of the United States Army. He was a lifelong member of the Monessen Elks Club and the Ukrainian Club. He was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He would attend all of their activities with great pride. He enjoyed all family gatherings and treasured family time. To John, family was everything. One of his great sayings was, “Make time for family because in the end that is all you have.” He is survived by son, Tim Kudlik; daughters, Janice Conn (Robin McDivitt) and Cheryl (John) Szakal; grandchildren, Josh (Cindy) Kudlik, Ricky (Ashley) Kudlik, Ashley Kudlik, Derek Conn, Taylor (Dalton) Kudlik, Jena (Grant) Kudlik, Justina (Ross) Abbott, Chelsea (Sarah) Szakal, and Caitlyn (Jacob) Herron; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Addison, Ricky Jr., Caleb, Eva Kudlik, Jaxon Conn and Nash Abbott; brother, Eugene (Mary) Kudlik; niece and nephew, Catherine (Scott) Anderson and Dan (Kim) Kudlik; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. May his memory be eternal. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Monday with a Panachida Service, followed by church services at 10 a.m. at St Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Monessen, with Father Robert Holet officiating. Interment will follow at Belle Vernon Cemetery.
