Obituary

John Rodish,70,of 1340 Paradise Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Sunday May 29,1977 at 3:05 a.m. in the Golden Age Nursing Home,Brownsville. He was born in Gillespie on July 13,1906 and had lived in Fairhope most of his life. He retired eight years ago from the Mathies Mine of Consolidated Coal Co. Mr.Rodish was a member of the United Mine Workers of America,the Washington Twp.Volunteer Fire Dept.and the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club. He was preceded in death by two brothers,Frank and Joseph Rodish. Surviving are his widow,Anice Frankie Rodish,one daughter,Mrs.Fred (Marlene) Burton of North Charleroi,one brother,Steve Rodish of Fayette City,three sisters,Anna Rodish of Gillespie,Mrs.Catherine Lynn of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Mary Smider of Harpers Ferry,Va.,and one granddaughter,Kristin Burton. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral home,Belle Vernon,from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev.Evelyn Tharp of the Riverside Tabernacle,Sunnyside,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
