Obituary

John R. (Jack) Stark, 70, of 424 Henry St., North Belle Vernon, died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, at 10:50 a.m. in Jefferson Hospital. He was born May 23, 1929, in Roscoe, a son of the late George W. and Harriet E. Williams Stark Sr. He was a resident of North Belle Vernon for the past 50 years and was a member of the First Christian Church of Belle Vernon. He retired in November 1988 from the Bell Atlantic Telephone Company, where he was a service technician for 34 years. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a life member of the North Belle Vernon Fire Department and a veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he served with the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Belle Vernon Masonic Lodge 643 F&AM, Uniontown Lodge of Perfection, and the Pittsburgh Consistory Syria Temple. Survivors include his wife, Sally J. Williams Stark, to whom on Oct. 21, 1999, he celebrated 50 years of marriage, one son and daughter-in-law, John S. (Jack) and Robin Stark of Finleyville, two grandsons, Jason Stark of Perryopolis and Kris Stark of Belle Vernon, one granddaughter, Nichole Stark of Belle Vernon, one brother and sister-in- law, George W. and Marilee Stark Jr. of Zanesville, Ohio., Friends , will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, where funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Sowden, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. North Belle Vernon Fire Department will hold services Sunday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home, followed by Belle Vernon Masonic Lodge 643 F&AM services at 8 p.m.
