John Robert (Bobby) Farmer Sr.;62;of 424 Fourth St.;Monessen;died Tuesday;March 12;1996;at 3:45 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. Born May 6;1933;in Adairville;Ky.;he was a son of the late Booker T.and Beatrice Jones Farmer. An employee of Koppers Inc.;Monessen;Mr.Farmer had lived in the Mon Valley for more than 50 years;coming here from Kentucky. He was a member of Elks Okay Lodge 697 of Monessen. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by a daughter;Denise Farmer. Survivors include his wife;LaVone Phillips Farmer;three sons;John Robert Farmer Jr.of York;Donniel Farmer and Darrin Lee Farmer;both of Monessen;one daughter;Brooke Farmer of Monessen;two brothers and sisters-in-law;William E.and Betty Farmer of Las Vegas;Nev.;and Thomas L.and Wilda Farmer of New Jersey;one sister;Ida Mae Farmer Allums of Monessen;and three grandchildren;Brittany and Darrin Farmer and Channeil Taylor;all at home. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the William R.Taylor Funeral Home;645 McMahon Ave.;Monessen. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m.in Union Baptist Church;McMahon Avenue;Monessen;with the Rev.James Edmounds officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
