Obituary

John Puskas Jr.,61,past president of United Steelworkers Local Union 1187 in Allenport and a member of the Plant Protection Unit at the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,died Sunday,March 6,1977,in Mercy Hospital,Pittsburgh at 10:15 a.m.,following a lengthy illness. Mr.Puskas,of Cook St.extension,Fayette City,was born in Roscoe,on Sept.21,1915,a son of the late John and Anna Gargus Puskas Sr. He had also served as vice president of United Steelworkers Local Union 2994 in Allenport. Mr.Puskas was also a member of the American Slovak Citizens Club of Fayette City. Survivors include his wife,Anna Yakim Puskas,one daughter,Mrs.Clifford (Mary Ann) Carlson Jr.of Fayette City,one brother,Andrew Puskas of Orange,Calif.,two sisters,Mary & Mildred Sadler,a grandson,Russell Carlson of Fayettte City,and several nieces and nephews,including Darryl Puskas,who made his home with Mr.Puskas. Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City with interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
