John (Joe) Pauwels of the Charleroi-Bentleyville Road;Charleroi R.D.1;died in the Brownsville General hospital;Thursday;August 28;1958;at 10:30 a.m.;following a brief illness. Mr.Pauwels;who was born in Liege;Belgium;December 16;1899;came to Charleroi in 1901 and lived here until 1948;when he moved to the Bentleyville-Charleroi Road district. He was employed by the Jones and Laughlin Steel Corporation at Fredericktown as a coal mine car repairman. He is survived by his wife;Inez Tuttle Pauwels;three sons;Edward of Amarillo;Texas;John of New Eagle and Walter of Sunnyville;California;two daughters;Mrs.Duncan (Elaine) Hannah of Dearborn;Michigan;Mrs.Jospeh (Janet) Grossi of Charleroi;R.D.1;four sisters;Mrs.Joel Berton of Monongahela;Mrs.Walter Behrendt;Mrs.Allie Plants and Mrs.Tony Costello of Charleroi;and eight grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Michael A.Melinchak Funeral Home. Services will be held there Tuesday;September 2;1958;at 2 p.m.;in charge of Rev.Thomas Wildman of the Bentleyville Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Michael A.Melinchak is the funeral director.
