Obituary

John (Joe) Pauwels of the Charleroi-Bentleyville Road,Charleroi R.D.1,died in the Brownsville General hospital,Thursday,August 28,1958,at 10:30 a.m.,following a brief illness. Mr.Pauwels,who was born in Liege,Belgium,December 16,1899,came to Charleroi in 1901 and lived here until 1948,when he moved to the Bentleyville-Charleroi Road district. He was employed by the Jones and Laughlin Steel Corporation at Fredericktown as a coal mine car repairman. He is survived by his wife,Inez Tuttle Pauwels,three sons,Edward of Amarillo,Texas,John of New Eagle and Walter of Sunnyville,California,two daughters,Mrs.Duncan (Elaine) Hannah of Dearborn,Michigan,Mrs.Jospeh (Janet) Grossi of Charleroi,R.D.1,four sisters,Mrs.Joel Berton of Monongahela,Mrs.Walter Behrendt,Mrs.Allie Plants and Mrs.Tony Costello of Charleroi,and eight grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Michael A.Melinchak Funeral Home. Services will be held there Tuesday,September 2,1958,at 2 p.m.,in charge of Rev.Thomas Wildman of the Bentleyville Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Michael A.Melinchak is the funeral director.
