He was stricken while
playing volleyball at the
Speers Boat Club.
Born in Donora on Dec 20;
1937; he had lived in Monessen
for many years and was
graduated from Monessen
High School with the class of
1955. He received a bachelor of
science degree in education
from California State College
in 1962 and was employed as a
sales representative for Kern
Manufacturing Co. of
Fairlawn.N.J.
Mr. Yonek was a veteran of
service in the U.S. Army.
He belonged to St. Thomas
Aquinas Catholic Church in
California and the Speers Boat
Club.
He was preceded in death by
his father; George Yonek;
Surviving are his widow;
Dolores Lenio Yonek; four
daughters; Jacqueline; Cathy;
Lisa and Julie; all at home;
his mother and stepfather;
Monica and John Zitney of
Monessen; and one brother;
Thomas Yonek of Valparaiso;
Ind.
Friends will be received at
the Rhome Funeral Home;
Inc.; 1209 Grand Blvd.;
Monessen; after 7 p.m.Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday. Prayers for the deceased will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m.in St.Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church;California;with the Rev.John Petrarulo;pastor;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Rhome funeral directors in charge.
