Obituary

John P.Sousae,61,of 418 Hill St.,Belle Vernon,died Friday,Oct.13,1978,at 1:55 p.m.in Mercy Hospital,Pittsburgh. Mr.Sousae was born in Custer City,Pa.on June 30,1917,a son of the late John Sousae and Mrs.Josephine D'Alessio Sousae,who survives. He had lived in the Belle Vernon area since 1945. He was employed as an auto mechanic with the Bendik-Lancaster Buick Co.,Inc.in Charleroi and was a veteran of World War II,having served with the U.S.Army. Mr.Smouse was a member of St.Sebastian Catholic Church of Belle Vernon,American Legion Post 659,the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Moose Club,all of Belle Vernon,the Hungarian Club of Pricedale,Washington Twp.Fireman's Club and the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club. Besides his father,John Sousae,who died in June of 1945,he was preceded in death by a sister,Mrs.Virginia Razzando in 1969 and by a brother,James Sousae. Survivors include his mother,Mrs.Josephine D'Alessio Sousae of Belle Vernon,two sisters,Mrs.Ann Hook,with whom he made his home in Belle Vernon and Mrs.Russell (Betty) Cope of Belle Vernon,one brother,Vincent L.Sousae of Belle Vernon,and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.where a wake service will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m.and a military service will be held on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.by the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. A Blessing service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 a.m.followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in St.Sebastian Catholic Church. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
