True to his promise that he would some day end it all John Kiefer;58;car inspector at the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie railroad yards at Monessen;hanged himself last night. His body was found suspended from a rope in the blacksmith shop at 6 a.m. He had been dead only a short time. Kiefer had been under medical care for a heart condition and had told his wife several times that he might end his life. Kiefer lived at 9 East Schoonmaker avenue. He had been a car inspector for 20 years and was a veteran of World War One. Surviving are his wife Mrs.Lavurn Worley Kiefer;the following sons and daughters; Ray;Rodney Lee and Larry J.and Olive Mae at home;Mrs.John Maudron;Mrs.Robert Lowe and Mrs.Robert Helon;Monessen;and the following sisters Mrs.Elizabeth Gates and Mrs.John DelBarre;Monessen;Mrs.Emma Kiefer;Webster;Mrs.Clyde Mosier;Uniontown. Five grandchildren also survive. Friends will be received at the Melenyzer Funeral Home;262 Donner avenue;Monessen. Services will be held there Thursday;July 3;1952;at 2 p.m.;in charge of Rev.LLoyd Erb. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Edwin Melenyzer is the funeral director.
