John L. "Buddy" Patterson,74,of Pricedale,died Saturday,May 1,1999,in Monongahela Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. He was born May 24,1924,in Cleveland,Ohio,a son of the late Jake and Leora Patterson. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from the New York Transit Authority after 30 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Betty Irene Patterson;four sons, Thomas Gerald Patterson of Springfield,Ohio,Randall Morris Patterson of Pricedale,Raymond Gerald Johnson of Belle Vernon and Clive Burgess Patterson of Brooklyn, N.Y. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, John Alan Patterson and two brothers, William Jake Patterson and George Washington Patterson. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Percy E. Law Jr. Funeral Homes Inc.,1324 Meldon Ave.,Donora. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant Green A.M.E. Church, Pricedale,with Pastor Leisha Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Percy E. Law Jr. Funeral Homes Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
