After lying in the Charleroi-Monessen hospital for two weeks suffering with a fracture of the skull;John La Basco;age 24;of Colonial No.3;succumbed at 12:15 Saturday morning;February 1;1930. The young man was injured when his Ford coupe got beyond control near the plant of the American Window Glass company;in Belle Vernon;on the evening of January 17 and crashed into a telephone pole. He was rendered unconscious and was rushed to the Charleroi-Monessen hospital where it was found he had suffered a fracture of the skull. He regained consciousness at times but showed no other signs of improvement during the time he was a patient in the institution and little hopes were entertained for his recovery. The deceased is a married man and is survived by his wife and two small children;who are now at the home of relatives in Belle Vernon. The body was removed to the home of his brother;Peter;at 127 Water street;Belle Vernon;from which place funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock with interment in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. A father and mother and a sister and brother in Italy survive besides his two brothers;Andrew and Peter;both of Belle Vernon.
