John L.Linday of Belle Vernon R.D.died Wednesday;May 20;1987;in South Hills Health System’s Jefferson Center. He was 50. Mr.Lindey was born Dec.26;1936;in Sutersville;a son of Lewis Lindey;who survives and resides in Fayette City R.D.;and the late Gretchen Knight Lindey. He was an employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. A Protestant by faith;Mr.Lindey was a member of the Allenport Rod and Gun Club. Surviving are his wife;Joan Summers Linday;four sons;John Lindey of Miami;Fla.;Kenneth Lindey of Belle Vernon;and William and Eric Lindey;both of Fayette City;one stepson;Danny Frich;of Belle Vernon;R.D.;two daughters;Terri Lindey of Miami;Fla.;and Gretchen Gardner of Fayette City R.D.;two brothers;William and Larry Lindey;both of Miami;Fla.;;and nine grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home in Fayette City Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday until 11 a.m. when services will be held at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
