John Kostella;73;of Belle Vernon RD 3;died at 6:55 p.m.Sunday;June 3;1979;at Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Monessen Aug.4;1905;and was a resident of Rostraver Township for more than 50 years. He was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. He retired in 1967 as a fabric department foreman for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Monessen plant. In addition to his wife;Mary (Gongosky) Kostella;he is survived by four sons;John Jr. of Donora;Robert B.of Perryopolis;Thomas of Jacobs Creek and Edward of Belle Vernon;one daughter;Mrs.Mary Rita Rozik of Belle Vernon;one sister;Mrs.Ann Gress of Donora;and five grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.today at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m.Wednesday at St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
