John Kalakewich;213 Water St.;Belle Vernon;died Sunday;Jan.12;1986;at 12:46 a.m.in the Mon Valley Hospital. He was 69. Mr.Kalakewich was born in Pittsburgh on Feb.21;1916;a son of the late Frank Kalakewich and Theresa Fedorchak Kalakewich;who survives and resides at the Waddington Rest Home;Fayette City. He was a resident of the Belle Vernon community for the last 30 years and was a veteran of World War II;having served with the U.S.Army. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He retired in January;1978 from the steam plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.;Monessen. Mr.Kalakewich was Catholic by faith. In addition to his mother;survivors include his wife;Mary Catherine Sullenberger Kalakewich;four sons;John Robert and Paul Douglas;both of Belle Vernon;James Daryl of Charleroi;and Ralph Frank of West Palm Beach;Fla.;two daughters;Mrs.Mary Eileen Fauvie and Mrs.Dennis (Kathy Lynn) Sukel;both of Belle Vernon;two brothers;William of Charleroi and Robert of Washington;four sisters;Mrs.Walter (Margaret) Altman of Virginia;Mrs.Robert (Mary) Rudolph of Sandusky;Ohio;Mrs.Hyman (Anna Mae) Smith of Gaithersburg;Md.;and Theresa Kalakewich of Virginia;nine grandchildren and five step-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m.and 7 to 9 p.m. Blessing services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
