John K.Rankin;82;of Belle Vernon R.D.1;died Monday;Jan.12;1976;at 5 a.m. at Westmoreland Hospital;Greensburg. Born Aug.24;1893;in Rostraver Twp.;he was a son of the late John C.and Annie Culbert Rankin. Mr.Rankin was a retired farmer. He worked the Rankin Farm in Rostraver Twp.his entire life. He had served as secretary for the Rostraver Twp.Supervisors until the municipality became a first class township several years ago. Mr.Rankin was a member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church;Rostraver Twp.;and Rostraver Twp.Grange No.919. Surviving are two sons;John G.of Pleasant Hills;and Bruce P.of Avon;N.Y.;two daughters;Mrs.Thomas (Natalie) Johnston and Mrs.Marie Young;both of Belle Vernon R.D.2;one brother;Thomas C.of Belle Vernon R.D.1;three sisters;Mrs.Fenton (Kathleen) Moody of West Newton;Mrs.Stewart (Frances) Donaldson of Donora and Mrs.Sarah Vaughn of Belle Vernon R.D.2;13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.on Wednesday at the James C.Stump Funeral Home;Inc.;Rostraver Twp.;where services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Allie A.Clayton;pastor of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church;Rostraver Twp.officiating.
