Obituary

John Joseph Dohan of 1311 Fayette Ave.,Belle Vernon (Fairhope),died Friday,Oct.4,1985,at 12:30 a.m. in Monongahela Valley Hospital,Carroll Twp. Mr.Dohan was 75. He was born in Fairhope on June 22,1910,a son of Julia Dohan of Belle Vernon,who survives,and the late Andrew Dohan. He was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society in Belle Vernon and also the Legion Club and Musical Society,both of Belle Vernon. A resident of Fairhope his entire life,Mr.Dohan was retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,where he had worked as a supervisor. He is survived by his widow,Alphonsine Dolfi Dohan,two daughters,Mrs.David (Virginia) Pochatek of Strongsville,Ohio,and Cecelia Dohan at home,two brothers,Frank Dohan of Belle Vernon and George Dohan of Belle Vernon and George Dohan of Fayette City,two sisters,Mrs.Mary Otena and Helen Dohan,both of Belle Vernon,and three grandchildren,John,Jennifer and Jessica. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Prayer services will be held in the funeral home Monday at 11:30 a.m.,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at noon in St.Sebastian Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funral director,is in charge of arrangements.
