Obituary

John (Jay) Gulya,70,of Fayette city,died Wednesday,March 30,1988,at 9:37 p.m. in  Monongahela Valley Hospital,Inc.  He was born April 4,1917,in Bay Bridge,Ohio,a son of the late John and Maria Ciberey Gulya Sr. He was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church,Fayette City, and of the American Slavonic Citizens Club and the Brightwell-Daugherty American Legion Post 484,both of Fayette City.  He served with the U.S.Army during World War II.  Mr. Gulya was a self-employed plumber,having been in business in Fayette City for 31 years.  Surviviors include his wife,Anna E. Toth Gulya;two sons, John E. Gulya and Paul A. Gulya,both of Fayette City;one daughter,Mrs. Marc (Anna Marie) Feldman of Riverdale,N.Y.;one grandson,Mathew D. Feldman;two brothers,George Gulya of Fayette City and Andrew Gulya of Chicago,Ill.;and four sisters,Mrs. Marie Harley of Long Island,N.Y.,Mrs. Irene Hora of Belle Vernon,Mrs. Wilma Koday of Donora and Mrs. Sophia Onufer of North Charleroi. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.,Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.,and Saturday until 10 a.m.,the time of services,in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City.  A Blessing service will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m.Saturday,with the Rev. Thomas G. Rinn,pastor of Holy Spirit R.C.Church,Fayette City,officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Arrangements are being handled by the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City.
