John "Jack" Gresh Jr.,57 of Potaka, Ind.,formerly of Rostraver Township,died Monday,Dec.23,1991,in Jefferson Medical Center,South Hills. He was born Oct.31,1934,in Rostraver Township,a son of Elizabeth Van Fleet Gresh of Belle Vernon R.D.3,who survives,and the late John Gresh. He was employed as a foreman by the AMAX Coal Co.and was a former foreman of Banning #3 Mine and the Old Ben Coal Co.,Phillippi,W.Va. He was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church,Rostraver Township,and the American Pilots Association. In addition to his mother,he is survived by his wife, Donna Backman Gresh;three daughters,Mrs. Joseph (Jacqueline) Gresh Phillips,Mrs. Mark (Katherine) Gresh Shemak and Janet Gresh;one son,John Vincent Gresh;one sister,Mrs. Marshall (Julieann) Brighenti of Belle Vernon R.D.2;five grandchildren;and one niece. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the L.L. Barthels Funeral Home Inc.,Second St.,Smithton. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m.in the Olive Branch Baptist Church,Rostraver Township,with the Rev. D.W. Norton officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the L.L.Barthels Funeral Home Inc.
