Obituary

John J.Nevins, 34, of 608 Ninth Street,Charleroi,died Thursday afternoon,May 25,1944 at 3:30 from injuries sustained in an accident at the Monessen plant of the Pittsburgh Steel Company.  The victim died of a broken back 45 minutes after his admission to the Charleroi-Monessen hospital.  He was working in the blooming mill when the accident occurred.  He was a native of belle Vernon and educated in the schools there.  Surviving are his wife,Mrs.Isabelle Bendock Nevins,three children,Dolores,James and Thomas,his mother,Mrs.Elizabeth Nevins,of Belle Vernon,two brothers,Cpl.Robert Nevins in Italy,and William,of Belle Vernon,two sisters,Mrs.Ellen Newlon,of McKeesport,and Margaret Nevins,of Belle Vernon.  Friends will be received at the late home until Monday,May 29,1944, at 9 a.m.,when funeral services will be held with Requiem High Mass at St.Jerome's Church,Charleroi,with Father William Maher in charge.  Interment will follow at the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner is the funeral director.
