Obituary

John Horvath, 80, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died Friday, May 21, 2010, at 9:45 a.m. in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Jan. 28, 1930, in Trenton, N.J., he was the son of the late Michael and Suzanne Sudo Horvath. Having previously resided in Dunlevy, John was a resident of Belle Vernon for the past 22 years. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. He retired from the tube mill at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Allenport Plant, and later worked as a produce manager at the former Belle Vernon Foodland. He was also a social member of the Belle Vernon American Legion and the Pricedale Hungarian Club. He is survived by his wife, Veronica Hayduk Horvath, two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemarie and Leonard Krolik, of Dunlevy, and Suzanne and Jeff Hazuka, of Charleroi, three grandchildren, Leonard Krolik, Michelle Bednar, and Derek Hazuka. He is preceded in death by a brother, Michael Horvath, and a sister Mary Sulikowski. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, May 24, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, (724) 929-6183. A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian Parish will pray the Rosary for the departed soul of John Horvath Monday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
