John Henry Rutledge of 408 Reed Ave.; Monessen; was pronounced dead on arrival at Monongahela Valley Hospital; Carroll Township at 9:36 a.m. Saturday;Nov.1;1980. He was 65.
Mr. Rutledge was born in Birmingham; Ala.;on Aug 31;1915;a son of the late John Rutledge and Rose Anderson Wilson.
He retired in July of 1980 from the Blast Furnace at the Monessen Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp.
He was a member of Joseph H.Ford Post 691 of The American Legion in Monessen.
Survivors include his widow;Martha; one sister;Mrs.Velma Lee of Chicago; Ill.and a host of aunts;cousins;nieces and nephews.
Friends are being received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 in the Beverly C. Draper Funeral Home;608 Sixth St.;Monessen. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.in the Fellowship Baptist Church of Monessen;with the Rev.Wilbur Hubbard;pastor;officiating. Interment will follow at Belle Vernon Cemetery. Draper funeral director in charge of arrangements.
