John H. Gaskill,Sr.,93,of 139 River St.,Speers,died at 4 a.m. Thursday,April 15,1971 in Charleroi - Monessen Hospital. Mr. Gaskill was born in Naomi April 29,1877,and had resided in Speers since 1902. He was a member of First Christian Church of Fayette City. He retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. in 1953. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth,who died May 16,1962. He is survived by a son, Joseph, at home. Friends will be received at the Shelby Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m. on Thursday,April 15,where services will be held at 1:30 p.m.Saturday with the Rev.Bruce E.Smith,First Christian Church,Fayette City,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
