John F. Sloboda of 637 Washington Ave.,Charleroi,died Monday, Dec. 19,1983 at 2 a.m. at his home. He was 81. Mr. Sloboda was born Aug. 23,1902,in Leckrone,Fayette County, a son of the late Joseph and Catherine Urbany Sloboda. He attended Christ Lutheran Church of Charleroi. Mr. Sloboda was retired from Corning Glass,Charleroi Plant,with 47 years of service. He was a member of the Corning Retirees Association,Slavick Citizens Club of North Charleroi and the Charleroi Fishing Club. Survivors include his wife, Ida Anthony Sloboda;four brothers, Steve of Potter County,Paul of Nemacolin,Tom of Monongahela and Joseph of Fallowfield Twp.;three sisters, Mrs. Charleroi (Rose) Deliainaut and Mary Gency,both of Fallowfield Twp.,and Mrs. Lloyd (Dorothy) McMullen of Meyersdale and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.,226 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi, where services will be held Thursday,Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. with Pastor James Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Christ Lutheran Church through the funeral home. The Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
