John Ferencz; 81; of North Belle Vernon; died Saturday; Feb. 28; 2004; at 11:20 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. Born Sept. 24; 1922; in Monessen; he was a son of the late William and Mary Pulatchko Ferencz. A lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon; he was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Belle Vernon; was retired from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel where he worked as a pipefitter; and he was a veteran of World War II; serving with the U.S. Army Air Force. Mr. Ferencz also was a member of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 and a life member of the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife; Dorothy Rusyniak Ferencz; two daughters and sons-in-law; Donna L. and Ken Johnston of Martinsburg; W.Va.; and Joyce and Bill Eger of Greensburg; one sister and brother-in-law; Veronica and Paul Melnick of Cleveland; Ohio; and two grandchildren; Nicholas and Elizabeth Eger. He was preceded in death by two brothers; William and Andrew Ferencz; and three sisters; Mary Daughty; Anna Pacak and Irene Ferencz. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; family owned and operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). Relatives and friends will gather at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church; Mary Street; Belle Vernon; on Tuesday; March 2 at 10 a.m. for funeral services with the Very Rev. John J. Kluchko of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The North Belle Vernon Fire Department will conduct services Monday evening at 7 p.m.; Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 at 7:30 p.m.; and a Parastas service will be held at 8 p.m.; all in the funeral home.
