John E.Duwall;45;of Rostraver Road;Belle Vernon R.D.2;died Wednesday;Feb.1;1978;at 10:30 a.m. in St.Francis General Hospital;Pittsburgh. Mr.Duwall was born July 19;1932 in Charleroi;a son of Sarah Rankin Vaughn of Belle Vernon R.D.2;who survives;and the late James W.Duwall. He was a veteran of the U.S.Army having served in the Korean Conflict. Mr.Duwall was owner of the Duwall Construction Company in Rostraver Twp. He was a member of the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church;Masonic Lodge F&AM 643;Belle Vernon;Monessen Elks;Belle Vernon Moose;Belle Vernon American Legion;and Mon Valley Home Builders Association. In addition to his father;Mr.Duwall was preceded in death by a twin sister;Eleanor;and another sister;Mary. In addition to his mother;survivors include his widow;Eleanor Duwall;a son;John E.Duwall Jr.at home;three daughters;Mrs.Marsha Courie of Solon;Ohio;Dawn Duwall nd Lisa Duwall;both at home; a brother;James W.Duwall of Belle Vernon R.D.2;four sisters;E.Jean Duwall of Pittsburgh;Mrs.Phyllis Smith of Farmington;Mich;Mrs.June Sanders of North Royalton;Ohio;and Mrs.Margaret Jolley of Fayette City. Friends will be received in the James C.Stump Funeral Home;Inc.;Rostraver Twp.;from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Services will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Allie A.Clayton officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The James C.Stump Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St.Francis General Hospital Memorial Fund.
