John E.Kostella Jr.;62;of 226 Indiana Ave.;Monessen;died Thursday;Nov.8;1990;at 4:50 a.m.in Mon Valley Hospital Inc.;Carroll Township. Born Sept.12;1928;in Monessen;he was the son of the late John Kostella and Mary Gongosky Kostella of Belle Vernon R.D.3;who survives. Mr.Kostella was Catholic by faith. He was a life member of the Belle Vernon Moose and a member of the Raven Athletic Association of Monessen. He had lived in Monessen since 1977 and retired in 1988 as an employee of Burrell Construction Co.;Donora. He was a U.S.Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. In addition to his father;he was preceded in death by a brother;Robert B.Kostella in 1982. Surviving;in addition to his mother;are two brothers;Thomas Kostella of Jacobs Creek and Edward Kostella of Belle Vernon R.D.3;one sister;Mary Rita Rozik of Charleroi;and a devoted friend;Olive Kearns of Monessen. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m.;followed by interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
