Obituary

John E. Kostelac, 87, of Monessen, died Thursday, April 10, 2008, in Victoria House II. Born in Pittsburgh on August 3, 1920, he was the son of James and Mary Berenik Kostelac. He retired as a foreman in the Roll Shop at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co., Allenport plant. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and served his country as a Master Sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Carpy Kostelac. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Drow Kostelac, one daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Stephen E. Hornack, of Charleroi, one son and daughter-in-law, James and Barbara Kostelac, of Marietta, Ohio, four grandchildren, David (Christina) Hornack, of Bellevue, Neil Hornack and fiancee, Rose Abrusci, of Chicago, Ill., Keith (Andrea) Kostelac, of Marietta, Ohio, and Bryan and wife, Amber, of Camby, Ind., five great-grandchildren, Karl Kostelac, Nathan Hale, Meghan Kostelac, Gavan Kostelac and Anthony Bianculla, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rudolph and Beatrice, of Fayette City, and William and Rose Kostelac, of New York, and one sister, Rose Marie McFall, of Belle Vernon (Fairhope). Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen (724-684-3700). Funeral services will be held Monday, April 14, at noon in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
