Obituary

John Galiotto, 88, of Rostraver Township (Belle Vernon), died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Joseph and Rosina Laratta Galiotto, he was born in Belle Vernon June 15, 1916. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, he was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, and retired in 1978 from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Beverly and Robert Stewart, of Greensburg, and Rosemarie Galiotto, of Bronxville, N.Y., five sons and four daughters-in-law, Wesley and Marsha Galiotto, of West Newton, Tim and Pamela Galiotto, of Twilight, Paul Galiotto, of Camp Hill, Gene and Debe Galiotto, of Greensburg, and Randy and Terry Galiotto, of Scottdale, 18 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lovella Hines Galiotto, in 1998, and a son, John Galiotto, in 1994. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICE, 724-929-5300, a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Lawrence L. Manchas, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home Sunday at 3 p.m., led by members of St. Sebastian parish. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
