Obituary

John Dandar,621 Speer St.,Belle Vernon, died Wednesday, Jan. 17,1979 at 5:20 p.m. in the Haven Crest Convalescent Home, Carroll Township.  He was 86. Born May 10,1892 in Czechoslovakia, he was the son of the late John and Anna Dandar. Mr. Dandar was a retired gang foreman at the U.S. Steel Corp., Homestead Works. He retired in 1958. He was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church,Monessen, and the Greek Catholic Union of the U.S.A. Mr. Dandar is survived by one niece, Mrs. Anna Pisarchek of Belle Vernon,three nephews,Michael and Andrew J. Yencsik, both of Belle Vernon,and Janos Dandar of Czechoslovakia,12 grand-nieces and nephews and 11 great-grandnephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Anna Yencsik and a brother, Michael Dandar. Friends will be received in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  A Blessing service will be held at the funeral home,Saturday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by a Divine Liturgy at St.Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church,Monessen, at 10 a.m. with Msgr.Andrew D. Parvensky,pastor, as celebrant.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Parastas services will be conducted Friday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Leonard J. Parzynski,funeral director, is in charge of arrangements.
