John Clark Barton;67;formerly of 630 McMahon Ave.;Monessen;passed away on Saturday;May 5;1979 at 11 p.m.in the Whilein Methodist Hospital in Gary ;Ind. He was born Sept.12;1911 in Washington;D.C.;the son of the late Edward and Philomena Clark Barton. He lived hie entire life in Monessen. He was a member of St.Leonard’s Church in Monessen. He was retired from the U.S. Steel plant in Donora. Survivors include two sons;Keith of Gary;Ind.;John (Jackie) Jr.of Lanham;Md.;two daughters;Mrs.Wanda Portis of South San Francisco;Calif.and Mrs.Algie (Sharon) Link Jr.of Gary;Ind.and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife;Bernice (Bobbi) Barton on July 14;1971;three sisters;Lillian Cooke and Gertrude Turner;both of Bowie;Md.and Eleanor Tennent;of Navesink;N.J.;and four brothers;Norman of Evanston;Ill.;Thomas of Jacksonville;Fla.;William of New York City and Joseph of Monessen. Friends will be received at the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home;608 Sixth St.;Monessen.
