John Christie Cover;aged 43;overseas veteran;died Wednesday;January 29;1936;at 2 o’clock in the United States Veterans’ hospital at Aspinwall;Pa. Two weeks ago he was removed to the Veterans’hospital;his condition gradually becoming more critical until his passing Wednesday morning. He died two days before his veteran bonus came due. Mr.Cover;who with his wife;the former Aleatha Taylor;resided at 325 Washington avenue;came to Charleroi about thirteen years ago. Before his illness he had been employed at the Macbeth Evans Glass company plant. A private in Company 248 Military Police Corps in France;and also a member of Company L;11th Infantry;he saw action on the front lines during the World War. He engaged in battles at Anoulde Sector and St.Die Sector and in the latter engagement his brother was killed while fighting along side of him. Besides his wife;the deceased leaves his father and three sisters;all residents of Missouri. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the late home;325 Washington avenue. Military services will be held prior to interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
