Obituary
Jjohn C. Hasson,77 years old,died at his home in Belle Vernon Wednesday,May 8,1912,after a lingering illness of five years. He received his early education at Merrittstown. For 22 years he was bookkeeper and pay master for the R.C.Schmertz Glass company in Belle Vernon until the time it was taken over by the American Window Glass company. He then accepted a position with the Brownsville Glass factory,but returned to Belle Vernon shortly after and conducted a grocery store for five years. The funeral took place Friday afternoon,May 10,1912, with interment in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
