John Buchton Sr.;87;of 327 Glister Road;Belle Vernon;died Tuesday;Dec.30;1975;at 9:45 p.m.in Brownsville General Hospital. Born in Czecheslovakia on Oct.24;1888;he had lived in Fairhope since 1915. Mr.Buchton retired 22 years ago from the Black Diamond Mine. He was a member of St.John’s Lutheran Church;Charleroi;and the Slovak G.U.Sokol Lodge 47 and S.E.U.Lodge;both of Monessen. Surviving are his widow;Susan Buchton;one son;John Buchton Jr.of Belle Vernon;two daughters;Mrs.Mary Sholtis and Mrs.John (Susan) Strychalski;both of Belle Vernon;10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;after 7 p.m.Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday. Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m.at the funeral home with the Rev.Stephen Hurnyak of St.John’s Lutheran Church;Charleroi;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
