John Braden Hopkins,55,of Forward Twp.,Monongahela R.D. 1 died Wednesday, April 13,1960 at 9 a.m. at his home. Born in Monessen,Aug. 3,1904,he was a veteran of World War II. He was formerly employed as a watchman at the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. Surviving are two brothers, Kenneth of Wyandotte, Mich. and Sheldon of Monessen and three sisters, Mrs. Paul (Leona) Jodon of Monessen and Mrs. Thelma Gallagher Forkey and Mrs. Ethel Cosil,both of Monongahela R.D.1. Friends are being received at the Edwin Melenyzer Funeral Home, 262 Donner Ave., Monessen from 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 16,at 2 p.m. from the funeral home,with the Rev. Lester M. Crum,pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, Monessen,officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Edwin Melenyzer, funeral director.
