John Babich; 84; of Gillespie;
Fayette City R.D. 1; died Sunday; June 7;1992; at 1:12 a.m. in
Mon Valley Hospital; Carroll
Township; following a lengthy
illness.
He was born June 2; 1908; in
Washington Township; Fayette
County; a son of the late Charles
and Elizabeth Benyak Babich.
Mr. Babich was a member of
Holy Spirit Roman Catholic
Church; Fayette City.
He was retired from electrical
maintenance at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation’s
Monessen plant.
In addition to his parents; he
was preceded in death by a
daughter; JoAnna Babich; who
died March 30; 1992; and by
three brothers and two sisters;
Charles; Frank and Joe Babich;
Ellen Barota and Mary
Blanchard.
Survivors include his wife;
Mary Stayer Babich; four sons;
John E. Babich of Venetia; Steve
Babich of Hollywood; Fla.;
Richard and Daniel Babich;
both of Pittsburgh; one
daughter; Mrs. Richard (Mary)
Martini of Charleroi; 11 grandchildren ; six great-grandchildren; four brothers;
Sam Babich of Daisytown R.D.
2; Andy; Paul and Mike Babich;
all of Fayette City R.D. 1; and
two sisters; Madeline Zubricky
and Elizabeth Bednar; both of
Fayette City R.D. l.
Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home; Fayette City.
Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. A Prayer service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.;followed by Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Spirit R.C.Church;Fayette City;with the Rev.Richard Mackiewicz;pastor;as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A wake service will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home. The Howard w.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
