Obituary

John Arthur Biddle,8I2 Harold Ave., Belle Vernon, died Friday,Oct.14,1983, at 12:12 p.m. at his home. He was 57. Mr. Biddle was born in Monessen on Sept. 19, 1926, a son of the late John U. Biddle and Ora A. Sickels Biddle, who survives. A resident of Belle Vernon for 32 years, he was Baptist by faith. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and achieved the rank of soxwain, having served on the USS Rlnehart DE196 in both Europe and Africa. He was a member of the Belle Vernon VFW Post 3557 and was employed as a craneman In the open hearth department of Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel's Monessen plant. He was also a member of the USA-AFL-CIO,Local 1229. In addition to his mother,he is survived by his wife,Evelyn June Choker Biddle,a son,Keith Allen Biddle of Belle Vernon,two daughters,Mrs.William (Kathleen) Reo of Monongahela and Mrs.Alvin (Susan Lynn) Frick of Belle Vernon,a brother,LLoyd R.Biddle of Eldora,two sisters,Mrs.Jean V.Chuk of Monessen and Mrs.Harry (Lillian) M.Fairley of West Mifflin and two grandchildren,Christy Lynn Reo and Valerie Renee Biddle. Ffriends will be received at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Monday at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m.with the Rev.Earl M.Lehman,pastor of the First Baptist Church of Monessen,officiating. Burial services will be held in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family requests that contributions be made out to either the Rostraver Ambulance Service of the American Heart Association. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is handling all the arrangements.
