Obituary

John A.Stankovics,60,of 229 Main St.,Belle Vernon,died of a heart attack late Wednesday afternoon,Aug.28,1963,while at work in a garage he had operated adjacent to his home. Mr.Stankovics was preparing to paint a motor vehicle when he collapsed. Firemen from Belle Vernon and North Belle Vernon used a resuscitator for several minutes prior to the arrival of an ambulance. Additional resuscitating efforts were made in the ambulance enroute to Charleroi-Monessen Hospital,where he was pronounced dead on arival. He was a life member of Belle Vernon Fire Co.No.2. He is survived by his widow,Pasquelina Teano Stankovics,one daughter,Mrs.Richard (Velma) Radock of Fairhope,one son,John M.Stankovics of San Diego,Calif.and five grandchildren,three sisters,Mrs.Elizabeth Safo of Monessen,Mrs.Margaret McCune and Mrs.George Ruby of Pittsburgh,one bother,Michael Stankovics of Pittsburgh. Friends are being received at the Harold R.Toner Funeral Home in Belle Vernon during hours of 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Requiem High Mass will be sung at 9 a.m.in St.Sebastian's R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,Saturday,Aug.31.
