Joan E.(Badzik) Vernet;73;of Monessen;died Sunday;July 8;2012 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. She was born in Donora on May 28;1939;the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Tomayko Badzik. Joan grew up in Donora and was a graduate of Donora High School. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and had previously worked for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation at their coke plant in Monessen. She is survived by her husband of 30 years;Donald E.Vernet;two sons;Troy Pocky and friend Kimberly Ringstad Gray of Roscoe;Mark and Cathy Pocky of Coal Center;a daughter and son-in-law;Dana and Mark Gallik of Monessen;six grandchildren;Christina;Machall;and Jordan Pocky;Zachary;Cody;and Markie Gallik;two brothers;Frank P.Badzik of Audubon;Pa;Paul (Toni) Badzik of Moon Twp.;a sister;Pauline Guliano of Donora;a daughter-in-law;Roxanne (George) Williams of Belle Vernon;three stepsons;Don (Brenda) Vernet of Carlisle;Brian (Tricia) Vernet of Bentleyville;Ronald (Margie) Yancoskie of Mt.Holly;and by numerous nieces and nephews.
