Jesse Stopford Sr.;64;of 222 Dull St.;Belle Vernon (Fairhope));died suddenly at his home on Saturday Jan.27;1968 at 1:30 p.m. He was a retired steel mill worker and a member of Marion Presbyterian Church in Fairhope. Born in North Charleroi Feb.23;1903;he was a son of the late William and Ellen Boydell Stopford. Surviving are his widow;Mary Hoffman Stopford;a son Jesse Jr.of Monessen;two daughters;Mrs.Joseph (Gloria) Russo of Coal Center and Mrs.Nelson (Joan) Crouch of Stockdale;four brothers;Leonard;Paul;George and Ralph;and two sisters;Mrs.Florence Smider and Sarah Stopford;all of Paterson;N.J.;eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City. Service there Tuesday;Jan.30 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rrev.Fred G.Cratuk;pastor of Fayette City’s Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Howard W.McCrory is funeral director.
