J.Elmer Shlanta of 100 Pride Drive;Belle Vernon;died Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Jefferson Medical Center. He was 73. Mr.Shlanta was born Sept.28;1905;in Wickhaven;Pa;a son of the late Michael and Theodora Moneta Shlanta. He was retired from the U.S.Post Office in Belle Vernon and had been supervisor of the Rostraver Post Office. Mr.Shlanta was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church;Lynnwood. Survivors include his widow;Mary Y.Shlanta;and a son;Theodore J.Shlanta;at home. Friends will be received in the James C.Stump Funeral Home;Inc.;Rostraver Twp.;from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Services will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 10:30 a.m..The Rev. John J.Kluchko will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
