Jeannette Lynn Ann Belczyk; 18; of Granby; Colo.; passed away Thursday; June 6; 2002; as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born May 21; 1984; in Greeley; Colo.; the daughter of Barry Belczyk of Granby; Colo.; formerly of Belle Vernon; and Susan Brewer of Phoenix; Ariz. Jenny graduated from Middle Park High School in Granby on May 25; 2002; and had enlisted in the United States Air Force; where she would have begun basic training in August. While in high school; Jenny was an active member of the yearbook staff; the volleyball and track teams; and was named to Who’s Who Among American High School Students – Sports Edition as a result of her accomplishments on the volleyball court and track field. She also enjoyed nature and loved animals. She was an active member of the Young Life Christian Association. In addition to her parents; Jenny is survived by her paternal grandparents; Jack and Helen Belczyk of Belle Vernon; and several aunts; uncles and cousins in the Mon Valley area. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Walter and Doris Apel. A memorial service was held and attended by approximately 500 family members and friends on June 11; 2002; in the Silver Creek Convention Center in Granby.
