Obituary

Jeanne A. Majors, 93, formerly of North Belle Vernon, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, in Country Meadows Nursing Home, Bridgeville. A daughter of the late Alexander and Isabell Young Allan, she was born in Turtle Creek on Oct. 11, 1917. Jeanne was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, of Belle Vernon, and enjoyed reading and listening to music. She retired in 1996, having been a substitute in the Belle Vernon School District for 25 years and also taught at the Douglas School of Business. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Corless and Jack Haburchak, of Monongahela, one son and daughter-in-law, John and Diane Majors, of Bethel Park, three grandchildren, Jill Urban and her husband, Jim, of Houston, Luke Majors, of Pittsburgh, and Kaitlyn Majors, of Aberdeen, N.C., and twin great-grandchildren, Timothy and Catherine Urban, one sister, Christina Ford, and one brother, William Allan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, G. Lester Majors, on Sept. 18, 1980. Friends will be received 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com, (724) 929-5300. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. with the Rev. Suzanne Currie officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Memorial donations maybe made to the Alzheimer's Association.
