Jean Scullion, 96, of Connellsville Street, Fayette City, died Sunday, July 7, 1996, in the Greenery Personal Care Home, Canonsburg, after a lengthy illness. Born Jan. 4, 1900, in Monongahela, she was a daughter of the late George and Sarah Louttitt Stark. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was Protestant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Scullion, in 1957; and a grandson, Darrell Scullion, in 1991. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Don Backstrom of Fayette City, one son and daughter-in-law, William S. and Elsie Scullion of Ellwpod City; four grandsons, Dennis Scullion and Dr. James, Jack and Don Alan Backstrom and seven great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday from noon to 9 p.m. in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,and Wednesday until 11 a.m.,when services will be held in the funeral home with the Rev. Ricky Nelson of the Fayette City United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
