Obituary

James W. Mckenna of Belle Vernon R.D.2,died in the Charleroi-Monessen hospital,Tuesday,October 7,1952,at 10:18 p.m. Mr. McKenna was born in Mercer,the son of Charles and Ann W. McKenna.  He moved to Monessen in 1900,and served as Justice of the Peace in Rostraver Township for eighteen years. He had operated a real estate and insurance business in Monessen since 1915,and served overseas during World War One as a K.of C. Counselor. He was a member of the St. Sebastian Church of Belle Vernon,the Elks Lodge of Monessen and was a charter member of the K.of C. of Monessen. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. McKenna,two brothers, John of Charleroi and C.Fred of Greenville,one sister, Mrs. John Glenn of Monessen,and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Check Home for Funerals in Monessen.  Services will be held there Saturday,October 11,1952,at 9:30 a.m.,followed by additional rites in St. Sebastian Church,Belle Vernon.  Rev Francis Martin will be in charge,and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Joseph R. Check is the funeral director.
