Obituary

James W. Horan of 1036 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,died Sunday,Aug. 21,1983 at 12:30 a.m. in Jefferson Center, Jefferson Borough. He was 44. Mr. Horan was born July 8,1939,in Charleroi,a son of James E. and Alice Wilson Horan, who survive and reside in Charleroi. A lifelong resident of the mid-Mon Valley,he was employed as a teacher with the Greensburg-Salem School District,where he taught earth and space science. Mr. Horan was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon.  He was also a member of the Greensburg-Salem Education Association,the National Education Association,the Charleroi Elks,Italia Unita of Charleroi,Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 and the Speers Boat Club. In addition to his parents, survivors include his widow, Barbara Moluski Horan;one son,Jayme Horan at home;two daughters, Sherie and Krie Horan,both at home;one sister,Mrs. Michael (Penny) Dooley of Dunlevy;two nieces and two nephews.Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon, where a Blessing Service will be held Wednesday,Aug. 24,at 9:30 a.m.,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
