James W. Heffran; 73; of North Belle Vernon; died Wednesday; July 28; 2004; in Forbes Regional Hospital; Monroeville. A son of the late James Harold Heffran and Lillian Virginia Crilley Heffran; he was born in North Charleroi on Aug. 31; 1930. He was a member of the Speers United Methodist Church; the Belle Vernon F&AM Lodge 643; Rostraver Sportsman’s Association and a life member of Belle Vernon Fire Company No. 1. A lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon; he retired as an inspector from PennDOT in 1999 and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife; Eleanor Marsoli Heffran; with whom he would have celebrated 36 years of marriage in November; one daughter and son-in-law; Ilona and Ronald Morgan of Belle Vernon; one son and daughter-in-law; Charles and Debra Woss of Rostraver Township; four grandchildren; Ashley and Collin Woss and Stephanie and Arron Morgan; and one cousin; Jack Hatfield and wife Eileen of New Kensington. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by one brother; Richard Heffran. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE; (724-929~5300); a Golden Rule Member Firm; 700 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be in the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. William E. Hastings officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Belle Vernon Fire Company will hold services Friday at 7 p.m.; followed by F&AM Lodge 643 services at 7:30 p.m.; both in the funeral home. Donations may be made in Mr. Heffran’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
