Obituary

Rev.James W.Grant,77,of 206 Fourth St.,Belle Vernon,died Wednesday,Oct.4,1989,at 8 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Gallatin on July 13,1912,a son of the late Jesse and Mary Ann Hobaugh Grant. Mr.Grant was a retired Free Methodist minister,having served in the Ohio and Oil City conferences of the Free Methodist Church. He retired in 1978 after 35 years of service to the ministry. The last churches he served in the Oil City Conference were Titusville,Oil City First,New Castle and Dubois. He was a graduate of God's Bible School,Cincinnati,Ohio. He was married July 5,1935,to Evelyn Hammitt Grant,who survives. He is also survived by a brother,Robert Lee Grant of Charleroi. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a sister,Mary Amelia Wetz,and brothers,Jesse,David,Benson,John,William Jennings,Earl,Walter and Richard. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held from the funeral home,Saturday at 11 a.m.,with Rev.Eugene Spear of the Free Methodist Church,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
