James W. Collins,age 80 years,of Speers,died at his home,Friday,March 28,1947,at 8:15 a.m.,after a lingering illness. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Speers and the F.and A.M. 615 of Charleroi. He is survived by his wife,Mrs. Christina Collins,two sons,Fred of Charleroi and Trace at home;two daughters,Mrs. S.B.Hughes of Twilight and Mrs. R.A. Ryan of Uniontown;one sister, Mrs. Rose Collins Janes of San Antonio,Florida,nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Melenyzer Funeral Home. Services will be held there Sunday,March 30,1947,at 2:30 p.m. in charge of Rev. L.N.Fox. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Chas. L.and Edwin Melenyzer are the funearl directors.
