Obituary

James V.(Red) Young,59,of 208 Henry St.,Belle Vernon died Friday,Aug.25,1972,at 6:40 a.m. at Charleroi Divison,Mon Valley Hospitals,Inc. He was born in Fayette City Aug.14,1913,the son of James and the late Elizabrth Park Young. He was a member of United Presbyterian Church of Fayette City. Mr.Young was an employee of the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his widow,Elizabeth Gillen,two sons,James K.at home and William Flenniken of Titusville,Fla.,two daughters,Cynthia Balmer of Belle Vernon and Janice Van Meter of Pontiac,Mich.,his father,James of Newell,three brothers,Clarence of Fayette City,Wilford of Newell and Gilbert of Fayette City,and 12 grandchildren. Friends will be received after 12 p.m.Saturday at Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev.Fred Gnatuk of United Presbyterian Church,Fayette City,officiating. Burial in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
